Aucho joins Young Africans Sports Club

Aucho joins Young Africans SC. Uganda Cranes star player Khalid Aucho has today completed his move to Tanzania’s outfit Young Africans Sports Club on a two-year contract.

Tanzania’s team confirmed the development via their tweeter handle.

Aucho 28, was born in Jinja City, Uganda and he was first recruited in Tusker sports club and then Kenyas’ Premier League team Gor Mahia F.C. from 2015 to May 2016.

He joins Young Africans as a free agent after ending his contract at Egyptian’s side Misr El Makkasa in June this year.

Club official, Hersi Said, said the club is happy to land Aucho who he believes is experienced and will help the club. We believe Aucho brings to the team something special, said the official.

Before joining El Makkasa, Aucho featured for various teams locally and outside Uganda, more of these include Simba SC and those in Serbia and India.

In July 2016, Aucho went on trial at Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen a move that later collapsed seeing him signed again by Baroka F.C. from South Africa at a fee reported to be 200,000 Rands (approximately KSh1.6million) e.t.c.

Aucho made his debut for the Uganda national team (the “Cranes”) against Rwanda in a 1–0 victory at the 2013 CECAFA Cup. He also scored his first international goal in a match against Sudan to give Uganda a 1–0 victory in the group stage of the same competition.

In June 2016, Aucho scored on an overhead kick from his own penalty box in a 2–1 away win over Botswana in a qualifying game for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Aucho was called up by head coach Milutin Sredojević (Micho) to the Uganda national football team for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Aucho has been influential in Uganda Cranes midfield featuring in the last two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

However, earlier this year in March, as the national team was preparing for an Afcon qualifying match against Burkina Faso, the midfielder was rejected in the camp after he failed to respect the national team’s code of conduct by refusing to board the official means of transport organized to pick him from Entebbe international airport.
