Allow party organs to function Hon Kabanda David & the people who are putting pressure on you to defend their selfish interests –Matua Job Richard. “There is a deliberate attempt by a certain disgruntled click of National Resistance Movement (NRM) members to frustrate the NRM EC Chairperson.”
In a tweet posted by Hon. David Kabanda the Member of Parliament for Kasambya County in Mubende district and an NRM cadre, says;
“It’s rumored that the NRM Electoral Commission has subjected the National Chairman to pressure over 39bn purportedly to organize NRM structures elections. Can’t this money be used to build party headquarters? Your Administrators have gone months without pay. Why waste money on things that aren’t urgent?” Kabanda wrote.
“The Party HQ may have an account and money on it as Fundraisers donated money, Spending on Party Structures set up is what parties do all the time, No party exists without Structures. Yes,” Tmusa Kasereka (@TmusaKasereka) writes.
Michael Katungi. (@MKatungi} “We should first ask Minister, office of PM general duties whatever that means where she put money for the construction of party headquarters? We don’t want to take that road. EC is only carrying out their mandate.”
Enock Kamanzi (@kamanzi3_enock) “I think party structures elections are urgent than the party headquarters. 80% of the previous party structures leaders are out of office, though, they still hold the same positions. Most of them are elected in other political offices and are no longer interested in NRM structures”
Shaaban (@RashidshabanJ1) “So an insider NRM goes by rumor what will the outsider think? There are no NRM minus structures so go slow Mr. If the money is there let them organize elections. Structures don’t wait for national elections to be active, it’s a permanent mobilization.”
According to Matua Job Richard (@JobMatua) an NRM cadre in his opinion he thinks this is excellent reasoning. I must thank you so much for this brilliance. In Political Organizations, two things matter most;
1. Structures in terms of Officials from Grassroots to the top;
2. Membership – The more the numbers the better. Our problems at the party are structures.
There is a group of NRM party members who want to do all that it takes to fight Dr. Tanga Odoi. This team has recruited the already out-of-time officials whose terms have been increased twice but have all been expired. It has further gone to recruit allies in Parliament Uganda to increase their support base for effective battle.
The issue issues are that NRM structure elections which were to be held in 2020 but got postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns is to be held and this is a Constitutional mandate of the Electoral Commission.
Dr. Tanga Odoi is duty-bound to call for these Elections since the second extension of the term of office for these Officials has expired.
Morally and legally, these Officials should have handed over Offices to those acting Officials. However, the majority of the wrong elements see this as BAD.
MPs like my brothers Hon Adriko Yovan, Hon Atima Jackson Lee Buti survived by God’s mercy as they were fought properly by these Structure Officials. Some of these Officials are even involved in recommending people for deployment. Many fear brilliant and open-minded people.
