Uganda sends five representatives to the Pan African Parliament

Uganda has selected Five Mem­bers of Par­lia­ment to rep­re­sent­ the country at the Pan African Par­lia­ment.

Among the MPs in­clude An­ifa Ban­gi­rana Ka­wooya (NRM, Ma­wogola West) and Hon. Fe­lix Okot Ogong (NRM, Dokolo South), Juliet Achayo Lodou (NRM, Ngora) and Eric Mu­sana (In­de­pen­dent, Buyaga East), and Patrick Nsamba Os­habe (NUP, Kas­sanda North).

The members were sworn in fol­low­ing their ap­point­ment by their re­spec­tive po­lit­i­cal par­ties and ap­proval by the Par­lia­ment of Uganda on 24th May 2021.

The Mem­bers swore in at the start of the on­go­ing 4th Or­di­nary Ses­sion of the 5th Pan African Par­lia­ment, presided over by Ag. Pres­i­dent, Chief For­tune Charumbira.

The Pan African Par­lia­ment is a con­ti­nen­tal in­sti­tu­tion based in Midrand, South Africa es­tab­lished to pro­vide a plat­form for peo­ple from all African states to be in­volved in dis­cus­sions and de­ci­sion mak­ing on the prob­lems and chal­lenges fac­ing the con­ti­nent.

The establishment al­lows Uganda to fully par­tic­i­pa­te in the de­vel­op­ment and re­gional in­te­gra­tion of Africa through dis­cus­sions and de­ci­sion mak­ing on chal­lenges fac­ing the African con­ti­nent, and find long-lasting solutions e.g peace, and security.
