Reports circulating on social media claim that His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the King of Tooro Kingdom, has died.
However, the reports have not yet been independently confirmed through an official statement from Tooro Kingdom, the royal family or other authoritative sources.
King Oyo, who ascended to the throne in 1995 at the age of three following the death of his father, Omukama Patrick Olimi Kaboyo II, has been one of Uganda’s most recognisable traditional leaders. He recently marked three decades on the Tooro throne.
